Muller Beltex delivers components for bulk-, agriculture- and process industry for the purpose of horizontally/vertically transporting and processing (raw) materials.
During the transport of bulk goods via vertical transport, the conveyor belt reaches a turning point at the top. The product will leave the conveyor belt here with an unknown velocity. The velocity of the conveyor belt determines if the product leaves the tray, by centrifugal force, or not.
The student will set up a mathematical model for the unloading of products out of the elevator tray (of an vertical conveyor belt). This means:
• Researching the existing calculations and applications
• Calculating the point at which the product leaves the conveyor belt, taking all possible variables in account
• Calculating the optimal velocity for optimal unloading of the products
• Modelling the movement of the product on the vertical conveyor belt
• Converting the mathematical model into a simulation, usable for different parameters
• a background in a master’s degree of Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Applied Science?
• modelling skills?
• mathematical skills?
• analytical skills?
• an assertive and independent attitude?
A flexible part-time job in which you can find challenge. Muller Beltex is a thriving business and a big player in its market. Aside from that, there is a nice working ambiance, in which openness, feedback and asking questions are more than welcome!
